Jul 16, Kathmandu - The Property Investigation Commission has announced a complete suspension of all its property declaration collection and inquiry activities until further notice.
In a statement issued today, the commission stated that it is halting its operations in accordance with the Supreme Court's directive issued on Asadha 31, until the final verdict of the pending writ petition is delivered. Notably, the commission had set the deadline for submitting property details as Asadha 32; however, due to the Supreme Court's order, the process has been halted on the very day the deadline was to expire.
The commission had been actively gathering and investigating property details of public officials, excluding former Supreme Court Justices, former officials of constitutional commissions, and former high-ranking officials of the Nepal Army. The process will remain on hold until the court delivers its final decision.
