Jul 21, Kathmandu - The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has reported that nearly 100 American soldiers have been injured in the ongoing conflict with Iran since July 7. Pentagon spokesperson Shawn Parrnell shared this information via a post on social media platform X.

According to Parrnell, approximately 100 soldiers have sustained injuries since July 7, 2026, but 96% of them have already returned to their duties. He emphasized, "They are determined to resume their responsibilities. Most injuries were mild traumatic brain injuries (mild concussions)."

Parrnell’s statement was in response to a report by The New York Times, which claimed that the Pentagon had not disclosed details of numerous soldiers injured during the conflict with Iran.

Earlier on Monday, U.S. news outlet CNN also reported that the military had delayed releasing information about injured soldiers. CNN explained that the delay was intended to protect soldier privacy and security. The Pentagon maintains that most injuries are minor and that the majority of soldiers have resumed their regular duties.
