Jul 27, Kathmandu - Infrastructure Minister Sunil Lamsal has announced the reinstatement of the inscribed plaque placed during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Nagdhunga–Sisne Tunnel. Speaking to journalists after the official inauguration of the tunnel, Minister Lamsal confirmed that the plaque would be reinstalled at the site.

The tunnel's groundbreaking was initially performed on Nepali date: 2076 Kartik 4 by then-Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at Tuti Pakhuma, Chandragiri-2. However, the original location where the plaque was placed required the construction of a CCTV camera building, leading to the removal of the plaque a year ago, according to the Roads Department.

The removed plaque was stored at the Roads Department office in Babar Mahal. The department clarified that the plaque was destroyed in a fire during the Gen-Z movement, which caused damage to departmental offices.
