Nepal Medical Association Suspends Non-Emergency Services Nationwide in Protest Against Attacks on Healthcare Workers

Jul 28, Kathmandu - The Nepal Medical Association has announced the suspension of all non-emergency medical services across the country in protest against the recent brutal attack on doctors and healthcare workers at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj, as well as the disrespect shown at the District Administration Office in Parsa.

On Asadha 9, Dr. Pramod Ram and other medical staff at Narayani Hospital were assaulted in a brutal attack that resulted in serious head injuries, and the hospital also experienced vandalism during the incident.

In response, healthcare professionals have shut down all services except emergencies to demand legal action against those responsible for the violence.
