Jul 28, Kathmandu - Nepal’s men's volleyball team concluded the CAVA Championship in sixth place after a 3-0 defeat against Kazakhstan in the fifth-place match. The loss marked Nepal’s sixth position in the tournament, having lost all five league matches.
The match took place in Islamabad on Tuesday, where Nepal was defeated by Kazakhstan with set scores of 25-18, 27-25, and 25-20. Despite maintaining their position in the FIVB rankings, the tournament outcome was disappointing for Nepal, as they finished at the bottom of the table.
Nepal's journey in the tournament was challenging, as they lost all their league matches. They previously faced defeats against Kazakhstan (3-2), Sri Lanka (3-2), Pakistan (3-0), and Bangladesh (3-2), before their final loss to Uzbekistan (3-0).
The team’s overall performance reflected the need for further development to compete at higher levels in future international tournaments.
