Jul 31, Kathmandu - Prime Minister Balendra Shah has emphasized that the government is continuously and systematically working to resolve the sensitive situations arising in Sunsari and other districts, ensuring the complete security of citizens' lives and livelihoods, and strengthening social harmony.

During a discussion held at the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers' Office in Singh Durbar with MPs from various districts of Terai-Madhesh representing the ruling party, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Shah reassured that all components of the state machinery are operating with high vigilance. He urged citizens to remain calm and exercise restraint amid the prevailing circumstances.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the government's primary focus is to reach affected citizens, guarantee their security, and conduct impartial investigations into the incidents. He also mentioned that the government has adopted a multi-faceted strategy to maintain peace and security, including the regulation of border crossings and movement.

Shah called on MPs to confidently visit their constituencies and act as strong bridges of harmony between citizens and the state. He emphasized that engaging directly with people during challenging and emergencies is a fundamental responsibility of leaders.

The MPs responded positively to Shah's appeal, committing to promptly reach out to their respective constituencies. They also acknowledged that Shah’s recent national address on Thursday has instilled a positive message, trust, and confidence among citizens across the country, especially in affected areas.

Furthermore, the MPs suggested the continuation of in-depth dialogues among leadership, civil society, intellectuals, and local political parties to sustain long-term peace and brotherhood. They stressed the importance of maintaining religious and social harmony in tense zones and surrounding areas, as well as launching awareness campaigns at the local level to counter misinformation and social media rumors, particularly among youth.
