Aug 02, Kathmandu - U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the suspension of military action against Iran, citing recent diplomatic developments and progress in talks with Iran and other Middle Eastern countries.

Posting on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated that the attack has been put on hold under the condition of a swift agreement. He emphasized that the move aims to ensure a better future for the world and the continued existence of a successful and prosperous Iran.

"To secure a better future for the world and to ensure Iran's existence as a successful and prosperous nation, I have agreed to cancel the attack on the condition that an agreement can be reached soon," Trump wrote.

He claimed that Iran and other Middle Eastern nations have reached a broad understanding of the negotiation framework and urged the United States to halt its military plans. The deal, according to Trump, would include the full and immediate operation of the Strait of Hormuz and the end of Iran's nuclear threats.

Earlier, U.S. officials had indicated plans to attack Iranian infrastructure to pressure Tehran into accepting American terms in negotiations. However, amid growing tensions, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reportedly discussed concerns about potential military action with Trump during a Saturday call, as reported by American outlet Axios.

Meanwhile, countries like Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Pakistan are pressing both the U.S. and Iran to de-escalate tensions. Experts warn that attacking Iran’s infrastructure and energy centers could potentially escalate the conflict further.

In a recent development, President Trump has announced that, for now, there will be no further attacks on Iran.
