Aug 08, Kathmandu - The country continues to experience the effects of a subtle monsoon, with the monsoon low-pressure line positioned around the average location, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Generally, partly cloudy weather is observed in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati provinces, while the Terai region remains mostly clear. Some areas in Bagmati Province are experiencing light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, and a few locations in Koshi, Madhes, and Lumbini provinces are also seeing light rainfall.

The meteorological department forecasts that the entire country will experience partly cloudy weather by this afternoon. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall and snowfall in some mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Moderate rainfall is expected in several hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as in some parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Additionally, some Terai regions may also witness moderate rainfall.

Heavy rainfall is possible in certain locations within the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, the department warns. 

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country, with moderate rainfall and snowfall possible in some mountainous and hilly areas.

The forecast indicates moderate rainfall in parts of Terai regions across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Madhes, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with a chance of heavy rainfall in some hilly areas of Karnali Province.

Due to the risk of flash floods, landslides, and erosion caused by heavy rain, residents are advised to exercise caution. The department emphasizes that such weather could impact daily life, agriculture, health services, tourism, mountaineering, as well as road and air transportation, urging the public to stay alert.
