Aug 09, Kathmandu - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed 15-point plan for Gaza, stating that Israeli forces will not withdraw until Hamas is "truly" disarmed.

Last month, the Trump administration's Peace Board announced an agreement for the "full disarmament" of Hamas and other armed groups operating in Gaza. However, Hamas has insisted that it will only hand over its weapons after Israel ceases all forms of attacks and withdraws its forces from Gaza.

Despite a preliminary ceasefire agreement reached in October, Israel continues offensive operations in Gaza. Netanyahu emphasized on Sunday that Israel will not pull back its troops until Hamas completely disarms, warning that the Israeli military will remain vigilant against any threats to its soldiers and civilians.

“Our position remains firm: we will not withdraw until Hamas fully disarms,” Netanyahu stated. “Until then, our military will continue to prevent any danger to our citizens and soldiers.”

Israel’s rejection of the plan signals a setback for the peace initiative proposed by Trump last September, which aimed to establish a monitoring board for implementation, disarm Hamas, withdraw Israeli forces from Gaza, and oversee reconstruction efforts.

With Israel's stance, the prospects for the proposed Gaza peace plan appear increasingly uncertain.
