KP Oli and Prachanda Issue 5-Point Directive to Implement Tripartite Agreement on Provincial Government Formation

Aug 11, Kathmandu - UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal have issued a five-point directive to execute the previously agreed-upon three-point consensus.

Today, both leaders jointly signed the agreement, emphasizing their commitment to forming the government in accordance with the outlined terms.

The directives include guidelines for government formation, distribution of ministries, and criteria for ministerial appointments. Notably, the number of seats has been identified as the primary basis for government formation.

The letter also states that if the two parties do not have enough seats to form a majority, an agreement should be reached to include a third party through mutual consent to facilitate the allocation of ministries.
