Aug 13, Kathmandu - In a devastating event in Kotalbari, Thawang Rural Municipality-5, a landslide caused by relentless rainfall last night has resulted in the death of three people, with one more body recovered from the debris. 

The body of 71-year-old Manrkhi Pun Magar was found at the scene, according to the District Police Office. The authorities confirm that the number of fatalities due to the landslide has risen to three.

The missing persons include 40-year-old Junkumari Pun Magar, 9-year-old Ashim Pun Magar, 6-year-old Ashok Pun Magar, 75-year-old Dalbahadur Pun Magar, 80-year-old Ajambar Pun Magar, 78-year-old Balbahadur Pun Magar, 72-year-old Lilbahadur Pun Magar, 71-year-old Mani Pun Magar, and 67-year-old Hastkala Roka Magar.

A team led by the Chief District Officer and security officials has reached the scene and is actively engaged in search and rescue operations for the missing individuals.
