Aug 13, Kathmandu - A devastating landslide in Thawang Municipality-5, Botalbar, has resulted in four deaths and injuries to several others, prompting a massive rescue operation.

The landslide buried the homes of Kamal Bahadur Pun Magar and six other households, leading to the tragic loss of four lives. Among the victims is 75-year-old Dala Bahadur Pun Magar, whose body was recovered after being reported missing.

Two individuals, Himal Pun Magar (22) and Sanjay Ghartimagar (25), were injured in the incident and are currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. Search and rescue efforts continue for the missing elderly man, with authorities actively involved in the operation.

The disaster occurred around 8:45 pm on Wednesday evening when a hilltop above the homes collapsed, causing widespread destruction. The incident prompted immediate response from local police, who arrived at the scene by 10:15 pm to commence search and rescue activities.

A team of 15 police personnel has been deployed to assist in the rescue operation as efforts to find the missing person continue.
