Aug 13, Kathmandu - In Kathmandu, the faction of the Nepali Congress opposing the party's establishment has set up a separate office in Chundevi, managed independently from the main party leadership. A signboard reading "Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman" has been prominently displayed outside the office, indicating the presence of former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Deuba, who returned to the country today after receiving medical treatment abroad for five months, was greeted with traditional drums and cheers by party leaders and workers at Tribhuvan International Airport before being taken to the Chundevi Contact Office.

Upon arrival, Deuba briefly addressed the gathering of leaders and workers, then sat in a designated room to hold discussions with party members. The room, marked with "Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman," also features his nameplate on the table inside.

Separate rooms have been arranged within the contact office for Deuba and former Minister of State and Organizer of the National Gathering, Shashank Koirala. The faction has been operating parallel activities from this office since the party's special convention last Paush, which Deuba's side did not participate in.

A national gathering has been scheduled from tomorrow until Shrawan 31, amid ongoing internal disputes. The Supreme Court recently permitted Deuba and Leader Purna Bahadur Khadka to reconsider the party's direction after the latter challenged the recent convention results, bringing internal conflicts back into the spotlight.

Shashank Koirala, who arrived today to welcome Deuba at the airport, reaffirmed support for Deuba as the true leader of the party, stating, "Our chairman is Sher Bahadur Deuba," and expressed their commitment to unifying the party.
