Aug 13, Kathmandu - In a strong rebuttal to U.S. President Donald Trump's recent assertions, Iran has declared that the Hormuz Strait remains fully blocked, contradicting Washington's claims of complete control over the vital waterway.

The Persian Gulf Strat Authority (PGSA) of Iran stated via social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that the Strait of Hormuz is still under blockade and will not be fully reopened until Tehran's conditions are met.

This response came just hours after President Trump claimed that the U.S. has "full control" over the Hormuz Strait. Trump described the presence of the U.S. Navy in the region as a "steel wall" and alleged that Iran is incapable of taking any action against it. He also claimed that the U.S. Navy has maintained a blockade in the area and inflicted significant damage on Iran's military infrastructure. Additionally, he commented on Iran's economic situation and soaring inflation.

Meanwhile, Iran's newly appointed Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaee, reiterated that the Strait will remain closed until Iran's conditions are fully met. Rezaee outlined Iran's demands, including an end to the U.S.-Iran conflict and blockade, the release of Iran’s frozen assets, and a ceasefire in Lebanon and Gaza. He emphasized that the Strait would remain closed until these conditions are fulfilled.
