Aug 14, Kathmandu - Hiralaal Hazara Dusad, who died at the holding center, has been transferred to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.

According to the victim’s family, the Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur contacted family members at around 10 PM and spoke with Minister Pratibha Rawal. During the call, Minister Rawal reportedly assured that she was working on behalf of the victims, including efforts related to land with property documents, and mentioned difficulties in arriving that night.

She requested the family to retrieve the body. The body has been taken to the teaching hospital for further proceedings.

Family members and human rights activists have raised a 12-point demand to the government, alleging that the victim’s death was caused by the lack of alternative arrangements and the demolition of their home without proper resettlement.
