Aug 15, Kathmandu - Nepal Telecom has announced a remarkable net profit of NPR 8.86 billion (approximately USD 67 million) for the fiscal year 2082/83, marking a significant 47.58% increase compared to the previous year.
In the 2081/82 fiscal year, the company's net profit was NPR 6.67 billion. The pre-tax profit also surged by 34.66%, reaching NPR 13.27 billion.
The company's total operating income grew by 3.12% to NPR 34.95 billion. Despite a 22.88% decline in interest income, growth in revenue from core telecommunication services helped boost overall profits.
Revenue from GSM services alone increased by NPR 64.54 million, contributing positively to the company's financial performance.
Nepal Telecom's annualized earnings per share stand at NPR 49.25. Looking ahead, the company has committed to improving service quality, expanding new technologies, and enhancing telecommunication access in remote areas.
