Lalitupar's Pulchowk Human Rights Office Protest Ends as Borrowers Reach Agreement with Government

Aug 23, Kathmandu - After reaching a consensus with the Nepal government, the microfinance borrowers who had been protesting outside the Human Rights Commission office in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, returned home on Sunday.

The protest was suspended following a 14-point agreement reached during negotiations between government representatives and the borrowers on Saturday, Bhadra 6. Following the agreement, the government arranged transportation to send the borrowers to their respective destinations this morning.

Under the supervision of officials from various government agencies, 323 borrowers were dispatched via eight buses. Those from districts such as Jhapa, Morang, Sarlahi, Mahottari, Sindhuli, Bara, Parsa, and Nawalparasi were sent back to their respective regions.
