Aug 25, Kathmandu - Pokhara's tourism entrepreneurs met with UAE Ambassador Abdulla Saeed Mubarak Jarwan Al Shamsi to discuss the upcoming international flights from Pokhara to Dubai. The delegation, led by the current president of Pokhara Tourism Council and former chairman of NATA Gandaki Province, Poma Narayan Shrestha, along with former Nepal Tourism Board member Basudev Tripathi, engaged in discussions with the ambassador.
The entrepreneurs highlighted that the regular flights from Pokhara to Dubai represent a historic and significant milestone for the tourism development of Nepal, Gandaki Province, and Pokhara. They emphasized the importance of collective efforts and cooperation from all parties to ensure the success and sustainability of this service.
During the meeting, the delegation requested the immediate removal of the PCC process for Nepali workers traveling to Dubai, noting that while the removal of this process may not be feasible immediately, the mandatory PCC for Nepali tourists traveling to Dubai on tourist visas should be abolished promptly.
Ambassador Alsaamsi responded positively to the request, expressing support. Tourism stakeholders, the Gandaki provincial government, and local authorities committed to providing full cooperation and efforts from their respective sides to make the Pokhara–Dubai flights successful.
