Aug 28, Kathmandu - The death toll from the recent flood in Rasuwa has risen to 469, with ongoing rescue and relief efforts underway. According to the Disaster Preparedness and Response Branch under the Ministry of Home Affairs National Emergency Operation Center, as of Friday morning at 7:30 AM, the bodies of 469 victims have been recovered.

The recovered bodies include 33 in Dhading, 37 in Nuwakot, 12 in Rasuwa, 44 in Gorkha, 110 in Nawalparasi East, 28 in Tanahun, 175 in Chitwan, and 27 in Nawalparasi West.

The NEOC reports that 73 individuals have been injured, with 43 from Rasuwa, 3 from Dhading, and 27 from Nuwakot. Over 3,253 people have been rescued so far in the disaster-hit regions.

A large number of security personnel have been deployed for search, rescue, and relief operations. In total, 9,405 security personnel—including 4,243 from the Nepal Army, 3,318 from the Nepal Police, and 1,844 from the Armed Police Force—are actively engaged in the relief efforts.

The government has also released information on individuals reported missing. According to official data, 977 people are unaccounted for, including 45 from the Nepal Army, 28 from the Nepal Police, 13 from the Armed Police Force, 15 from Customs Office, and 4 from Immigration Office.

To reach remote and affected areas, aerial rescue operations are also being conducted. A total of 15 helicopters—six from the Nepal Army and nine from private agencies—are involved in rescue and relief activities.

The government has allocated financial aid to the affected districts: NPR 10 million each for Rasuwa and Nuwakot, and NPR 5 million for Dhading, totaling NPR 25 million. Additionally, relief materials including sleeping bags, blankets, chargers, biscuits, and essential food supplies have been dispatched in 10 trucks to support ongoing rescue efforts.
