Aug 28, Kathmandu - Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a condolence message to Nepali President Ram Chandra Poudel, expressing grief over the loss of life and property caused by the recent floods and landslides in Nepal.In his message, Xi Jinping conveyed his sympathies to the affected families and the Nepalese government, acknowledging the ongoing challenges posed by the natural disaster.

China has been continuously assessing the situation in border areas such as Kerung and is actively advancing rescue and relief operations.

Following a high-level meeting, China decided to provide emergency assistance to Nepal, recognizing the impact of the disaster on border crossings and rescue efforts.

The decision came after the devastating floods and landslides in Keryung County, located in China's southwestern Tibet Autonomous Region, which borders Nepal.The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) held a high-level meeting on Friday, chaired by Xi Jinping, during which the situation was reviewed, and the emergency aid plan was finalized.

Due to recent floods and landslides along the Nepal-China border, rescue and relief activities on both sides of the border have faced significant challenges.The Chinese authorities have committed to providing essential emergency support to Nepal, aiming to assist in disaster management and recovery efforts in the affected regions.

As Nepal continues to grapple with the aftermath of natural calamities, China’s swift response underscores its commitment to regional cooperation and humanitarian assistance.
