Aug 28, Kathmandu - Chitwan Medical College (CMC) Teaching Hospital has announced its commitment to provide free emergency medical services to those affected by floods in Rasuwa and surrounding districts.

In a statement released today, the college expressed its sorrow over the loss of life and property in districts such as Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhadhing, and Gorkha, which have been severely impacted by riverine floods. The college assured that it will assist affected citizens in their treatment and recovery efforts.

The statement detailed that citizens injured or affected by floods, landslides, and inundations will receive free emergency medical examinations, primary treatment, and hospitalization if necessary at the hospital.

Prioritizing treatment for those injured and affected by the disaster, the college's emergency department will operate 24/7, providing round-the-clock services.

Furthermore, a specialized emergency response team, equipped with medical personnel, ambulances, and essential medicines and equipment, has been kept on standby. This team can be deployed to affected areas or disaster zones as needed, according to the college’s Managing Director, Pratap Devkota.

The college also pledged to coordinate and collaborate with the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Health and Food Safety, local authorities, security agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective disaster response and support.
