Aug 30, Kathmandu - A large lake formed by a landslide in China's border area has expanded to approximately the size of 14 standard football fields, according to Chinese media reports.

Chinese state television CGTN reported that, based on monitoring conducted by the Anneng Group up to August 29, the lake covers an area of nearly 100,000 square meters. This size is equivalent to about 14 football fields.

The lake was created when a landslide blocked a river, leading to the accumulation of water, which is now under control, the Anneng Group has stated, citing their data.

Meanwhile, a second "Bandha Lake-2" has also been identified. It is reportedly located about five kilometers upstream from the first lake.

Following the devastating floods on September 10, Chinese authorities continue to conduct ongoing studies and monitoring to assess additional risks in the border region.
