Sep 03, Kathmandu - A devastating flood in Rasuwa’s Bhotekoshi has resulted in the deaths of over 1,250 people, according to the latest reports.

As of Thursday morning at 10 AM, the bodies recovered across various districts are as follows: 127 in Rasuwa, 177 in Nuwakot, 60 in Dhading, 355 in Chitwan, 69 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 218 in Nawalparasi East, and 190 in Nawalparasi West. Including 18 bodies found in India and brought back to Nawalparasi West, the total death toll has reached 1,252.

So far, 95 bodies have been handed over to their families. DNA sampling and necessary procedures are underway to identify the victims.

According to police, a total of 897 bodies have been managed, including 213 women, 314 men, and 370 unidentified bodies. Details of the unidentified victims have been publicly shared on the Nepal Police website.

To date, 7,912 police personnel have been deployed for rescue, search, relief distribution, and body management in the affected areas.

Additionally, around 4,875 people remain missing since the flood. Safe shelters have been established in various districts, with 3,126 individuals currently sheltered.

Authorities continue to coordinate with local communities and agencies to evacuate families at risk, conduct search and rescue operations, and clear blocked roads and pathways.
