Ten Bangladeshi Nationals Detained in Thamel for Illegal Residency and Suspicious Activities

Sep 08, Kathmandu - Authorities have arrested ten Bangladeshi nationals in the Thamel area on suspicion of illegal residency and involvement in suspicious activities. The arrests were made during a raid in various hotels and guesthouses in the bustling tourist hub, according to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Crime Investigation Office.

Superintendent of Police Sharat Kumar Thapa Chhetri stated that the individuals were found residing unlawfully and engaging in activities that raised suspicions. The detainees are originally from Gajipur and Gadabpur Police Station areas in Bangladesh and have been living in Thamel.

Those detained include Fahima Aktar Hasan (46), Mehmud (48), Mahbub Hasan (45), Repon Mehmood (49), MD-Keramot Ali Khan (30), Shahidur Rahman (30), MD Khalilur Rahman (50), Arifur Rahman (28), MD Maruf Mridha (42), and Mohammad Hanif Mia (64).

The police seized them from locations including Hotel Dhaka Express, Hotel D Veda, and Hotel Alrahman. All detainees have been handed over to the Department of Immigration for further investigation and necessary legal action.
