Sep 10, Kathmandu - Members of Parliament have drawn the government's attention to a distressing incident in Rajbiraj, Saptari, where a woman gave birth on the street due to lack of hospital admission.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Khagendra Karna highlighted that the Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj refused to admit the woman, prompting her to deliver her baby on the footpath. The MP urged the health minister to respond to the situation.

Karna stated that Babita Paswan, wife of Hariram Paswan from Ward 14 of Rajbiraj Municipality, was compelled to give birth on the street due to financial constraints. He explained that when she experienced labor pains, she went to the hospital but was turned away because she lacked money. With only 2,500 rupees, she was unable to be admitted, leading to the unfortunate incident.
