Sep 11, Kathmandu - Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Member of Parliament Ashika Tamang has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the government's inability to ensure a steady supply of cooking gas. During a parliamentary session, she questioned whether the government is the biggest middleman or mafia controlling the gas supply chain.

Addressing the House, Tamang remarked, “I have gas available at my local shop every day, but I receive calls from shopkeepers refusing to sell it. Is this some kind of secret conspiracy? It feels like I’m listening to a myth, but my ears are functioning. Could it be that the real mafia is bigger than the government?”

She further questioned the people's trust, asking, “Did the public, who gave a two-thirds majority to this government, expect to see such chaos at the gas shops?”

Tamang emphasized the need for transparency, stating, “If there truly is no gas, the government should announce it immediately. People should then be advised to cook with whatever they have. Otherwise, if ministers are replaced every month just for gas shortages, there will be more ministers in line than gas cylinders.”
