Search Continues in Upper Trishuli-1 Tunnel, Human Organs and Bodies being Recovered

Sep 18, Kathmandu - Due to flooding caused by the surging waters of the Bhote Koshi River, rescue and search efforts are ongoing inside the tunnel of the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project in Rasuwagadhi.

A joint rescue team led by the Nepali Army, along with representatives from the project, is continuing the search inside the tunnel. As they remove accumulated water and mud, they are recovering human remains and bodies.

Following damage to the project's infrastructure caused by the flood, the rescue team was deployed to locate those who went missing inside the tunnel. Efforts are underway to gradually clear water and mud, enabling deeper search operations.

The rescue team is proceeding cautiously, considering the challenging conditions inside the tunnel, and is managing recovered bodies carefully. The search and rescue activities will continue in various parts of the tunnel until the operation is complete.
