Sep 25, Kathmandu - Nepal and Namibia have formally established diplomatic relations, bringing the number of countries with which Nepal maintains diplomatic ties to 187.

Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal and Namibia’s Minister of International Relations and Trade, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, signed a joint communiqué in New York, where they are attending the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Before the signing, the two ministers discussed issues of mutual interest, Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. They also discussed the human and physical toll of a recent devastating climate-related disaster in Nepal.

Both ministers stressed the importance of exploring new opportunities for bilateral cooperation and working together to advance the progress and prosperity of the two countries and their people.
