Sep 25, Kathmandu - Traffic on the western section of the Nagdhunga–Muglin road project has been disrupted after landslides blocked the route at several locations, even though the road track at Krishnabhir remains intact.

Information Officer Sachendra Mishra said a gabion wall below the road at Krishnabhir had collapsed, but the main road track was still safe and passable. However, landslides elsewhere have made it impossible for vehicles to reach the area.

Landslides have fully blocked the road at three or four locations, including Dharapani and points before Krishnabhir, Mishra said. He warned that the risk of further landslides remains high at Krishnabhir and other places as heavy rain continues.

Ongoing rainfall and the threat of additional landslides are also hampering efforts to clear debris and reopen the road.
