Sep 25, Kathmandu - Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) international relations and diplomacy department member Hikmat Jung Karki met Ameet Jogia, international relations director of the UK’s Conservative Party, in London on Friday.

Karki said the two discussed ways to strengthen Nepal–UK ties and expand dialogue, cooperation, and experience exchange between their parties.

He also briefed Jogia on the floods that hit Nepal on Bhadra 10 and their aftermath, including casualties, rescue and relief efforts, and the long-term impact on affected communities. Karki expressed condolences to the families and relatives of British nationals who went missing during the disaster, and thanked the UK government for its support and humanitarian assistance.

Karki outlined the RSP’s political outlook and the Nepal government’s priorities in economic development, good governance, foreign investment, private-sector promotion and job creation.

Jogia spoke positively about Nepal–UK relations and said the Conservative Party was interested in expanding ties and cooperation with the RSP. The two also discussed establishing formal party-to-party relations. Karki said he would consult the RSP’s central leadership after returning to Nepal and take the necessary steps.
