Sep 27, Kathmandu - Around 80 houses have been washed away in Parbat's Jaljala Rural Municipality-8 as the floodwaters of the Kaligandaki River entered the settlement. Police have said that locals have moved to safer places after the floodwaters started entering the settlement since Saturday night. It is yet to be confirmed whether there have been any casualties.

After receiving information that other houses are also at high risk from the flood, a joint team of the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 25 Chandika Gana Parbat and the Nepal Police have shifted the locals and their belongings to a safer place.

The detailed details of the incident are yet to be received and there are also problems with electricity and phone connections, informed DSP Shailendra Thapa, joint spokesperson of the Armed Police Force.
