Monsoon Withdraws from Western Nepal; Rest of Country May Follow Soon

Oct 03, Kathmandu - Nepal’s monsoon has withdrawn from the western part of the country, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology announced on Saturday.

The withdrawal covers Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces, most of western Lumbini Province, and a few areas in western Gandaki Province.

The monsoon retreated from the western regions a day after its average withdrawal date of October 2. The department said weakening monsoon winds mean it is likely to withdraw from the rest of Nepal in the coming days.
