Oct 04, Kathmandu - The IBM TechX programme was held in Dhangadhi, Sudurpaschim Province, on October 1, 2026, focusing on digital governance, technology automation and technical skills development.
Organised with the support and initiative of South Asian cybersecurity and technology company One Cover Private Limited, the event brought together provincial government representatives, IT experts, educators, cybersecurity specialists and private-sector leaders. Chief Minister Khagaraj Bhatta attended as the chief guest.
Among those present were CAN Federation Acting President Chiranjibi Adhikari, Vice President Harka Bahadur Shetty, Central Committee member Omkar Shrestha and Sudurpaschim Province President Dhiren Bogati. Participants also included PCPs Chief Growth Officer Kripa Shrestha, Rishika Dahal and One Cover AI consultant Baburam Shrestha.
Organisers said the programme aims to advance digital governance in Sudurpaschim by accelerating institutional automation, strengthening cybersecurity and developing the province’s technical workforce.
The event highlighted the growing adoption of artificial intelligence, cloud technology and automation by regional businesses, noting that protecting digital assets has become essential. Participants also stressed the increasing importance of cybersecurity and IT security services in safeguarding organisational networks.
The programme is expected to connect local talent with international technologies and practices, helping develop a skilled technical workforce. It also aims to contribute to the province’s technology sector through collaboration and knowledge-sharing with initiatives such as the IBM TechXchange Automation User Group Nepal and Christ University’s IBM Innovation Centre.
Participants also discussed the potential of initiatives such as IBM Tech Re-Entry, which supports people returning to technology careers after a break, as a model for developing skilled workers in Sudurpaschim.
Organisers expect the event to help foster a technology-friendly environment, raise cybersecurity awareness and support the institutionalisation of digital transformation across the province.
