Nov 01, Kathmandu - Authorities have formed a three-member committee to investigate the escape of eight inmates from Dolpa District Prison.

A meeting of the District Security Committee, chaired by Chief District Officer Junu Hamal Dhakal, appointed Inspector Binay Singh of the District Police Office to lead the inquiry. The committee also includes one representative from the District Administration Office and another from the National Investigation Department.

The committee has been asked to submit its report as soon as possible. The eight inmates escaped on Saturday after digging a tunnel nearly four metres long beneath the prison.
