March 11, Kathmandu-Binay Jung Basnet, who threatened Myagdi's Sapana Roka Magar, who was list in BBC's influential women, has been released on Rs 50,000 bail.
According to Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Complex, Kathmandu Superintendent of Police (SP) Ramesh Kumar Basnet District Court on Wednesday ordered the release of him on Rs 50,000 bail.
After completing the investigation on him, the police submitted the report with his opinion to the Kathmandu Public Prosecutor's Office only on Tuesday.
Police had investigated the case against Basnet under the Indecent Behavior and Electronic Transactions Act and punishment was demanded in both cases.
Basnet was asked to pay a fine of up to Rs 100,000 and a fine of up to five years or both under the Electronic Act and imprisonment for up to one year and a fine of up to Rs 10,000 for indecent behavior.
Basnet was arrested by the police from the new bus park in Gongbu on February 16.
Police initially launched an investigation into Basnet's alleged indecent treatment. A complaint was lodged on the premises after Basnet threatened to show a nude photo of Sapna Roka Magar on YouTube.
Basnet had said on his YouTube channel that he had nude pictures of his dreams on a pen drive. He had threatened to make the material public.
During the investigation, the premises had sent Vinay Jung Basnet's phone to the electronic forensic lab. According to a report from the lab, an investigation into the Electronic Act was launched after evidence was found in his statement.
Earlier, Sapna and Basnet had started burning corpses. Sapna, who came to Kathmandu from Myagdi, lived with Basnet. At the same time, there was bitterness between them. She left Basnet last October and returned home.
Sapna has now registered an organization of her own name. From the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, she has registered an organization called ' Sapana Desire: Prosperous Nepal'.
She had registered with the organization on February 1.
