March 19, Kathmandu- Lalitpur Metropolitan Education Development and Coordination Unit has decided to provide free service to the service recipients. The unit has mentioned in the charter that from now on, no charge will be levied on any title while providing services.
Unit chief Ramesh Mainali said that the district education fund set up under the structure of the district education office in the past has also been scrapped. He took office only five months ago. After assuming office, the country had gone into federalism in the current situation and there was no justification for the fund. He said that the fund was scrapped as he did not see any justification. In the past, under the pretext of depositing money in the fund, teacher appointment, transfer, promotion, giving a copy of class 8 certificate to the student, certifying the certificate, certifying the school, verifying the certificate for the student going abroad, every fee was charged.
In the past, a fee of Rs 250 was charged for getting a copy of class VIII, Rs 500 for verifying a certificate, Rs 1,000 for transferring, appointing, and promoting a teacher, and many more. However, the new unit chief Ramesh Mainali and Information Officer Surendra Bhatt's joint initiative to provide free services to the service recipients by scrapping the fund is commendable, said Ram Kaji Bista, Lalitpur district president of the Unified All Nepal Teachers Association.
"Now, we have made arrangements for the service recipients to get the service immediately in case of documents and procedures." No charge will be levied on any title, 'said Mainali, head of the unit. The responsibility of our unit has also decreased. 'The government has already given us the office operation and management expenses. He said that it was wrong to charge the service recipient in such a situation and decided to provide the service free of cost.
At present, the government has appointed the Education Development and Coordination Unit as a teacher delegated by the Teacher Service Commission for the appointment of teachers, inter-district transfers of teachers, inter-district and inter-district transfers, performance and evaluation of teachers, conducting and managing SSE examinations, and monitoring Information Officer Surendra Prasad Bhat said that the unit is in charge of 21 rights including Karne.
"Apart from the registration and application fees for Class 9 and SEE exams, service recipients do not have to pay any fee," said Bhatta, an information officer. "In the past, we have put an end to harassment and distortion of service recipients on the pretext of education funds." Such funds should now be scrapped from all districts. '
Ganesh Khanal, president of the Nepal Teachers Association Lalitpur district, said that the current education system has constitutionally changed the face of the district. He suggested that all the municipalities should learn from the Lalitpur Education Development and Coordination Unit to provide free and fast service to the service recipients.
