April 12, Kathmandu - The date of the franchise league Nepal Super League (NSL), which is being organized for the first time in Nepal, has been extended. Organizer Nepal Sports and Event Management has made public the game schedule on Monday stating that NSL 2078 will be held from 24 April to 15 May.
The league, in which 7 franchise teams will compete, was earlier scheduled to be held from 11 to 25 April. But now the date of the league has been extended by one week.
Kathmandu Razors FC and Lalitpur City FC will meet in the inaugural match of the league. The game will start at 5:30 pm on April 26 at Dasharath Stadium. Goalkeeper of the national team Vikesh Kuthu is the marquee player of Kathmandu. Similarly, Anjan Bista is a marquee player of Lalitpur. There will be only one game on the first day.
Along with Kathmandu and Lalitpur, Biratnagar City FC, FC Chitwan, Pokhara Thunders, Butwal Lumbini FC, and Dhangadhi FC will compete in the league. The game will be in the single-round robin league.
According to the schedule made public by the organizers, there will be a playoff between the first and second teams of the league. The winner will reach the final. There will be another playoff between the third and fourth place winners and the winner of that game will play to reach the final after losing the first playoff.
The final game will be played on May 15. There will be a total of 25 games in the league.
