April 24, Kathmandu - Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basant Kumar Nemwang has said that the construction of large physical infrastructure needs to be expedited for the prosperity of the country.

Laying the foundation stone of the new office building of the Nepal Engineering Council on Saturday, Minister Nemwang said that development of the country was not possible without building huge physical infrastructure. He also said that the engineering sector has an important role to play in fulfilling the national aspirations, prosperity and development of the Government of Nepal.

He also said that the engineering sector should develop itself for the construction of new tunnels, railways, airports and irrigation projects in the country. He also said that it would not have been possible to accelerate the construction of large physical infrastructure in the country and achieve success in its construction without engineers.
